This section deals with Travel warnings to Nepal.

Currently the Maoist leader has stepped down. So as the last 10 years, the situation is unknown.

Nepal is not only one of the most corrupt and also one of the poorest countries in the world. Even as foreigner your life maybe worth very little in Nepal. Medical facilities are limited, you will need to go to Thailand or India for a good hospitals. Do not depend on a fixed schedules, allow plenty of time for delays in buses, road blockage, plane cancellations.

Crimes perpetuated against foreigners are increasing. Be careful in the Thamel area of Kathmandu, particularly at night.

Be wary of internet touts. Foreigners are offered jobs in Kathmandu to write blogs reports, and spam for trekking agencies. Never send any prepaid payment in advance.

You'll hear things like, "If you don't have a guide you will be attacked..."

"If you don't book with us, there will be no rooms available.."

"Nepal is safer than London or New York" 

Don't fall for any internet hype. Nepal is not as safe as India, Thailand, it is nowhere near as safe as any western country. Travelers need to be aware of the risks if they are planning to go to Nepal.
